I suggest you to follow the below steps to copy files from the external drive to the calculator and check if it helps.
i. Open File Explorer.
2. Connect the external hard drive to the computer.
three. Click on This PC on the left side of the File Explorer.
4. Double click on external hard drive icon.
five. Printing Ctrl Key + A Key to select all the data files and printing Ctrl + C Key to copy it.

Hi Karen,
Cheers for your response with the current condition of the issue.
Information technology is non a long process as we are but copying and pasting the data from the external difficult drive to the computer. Though transfer rate will defer depending on the file size and content. Video files will be transfer at much faster rate than transferring a data files.
Note: If you want to cut the whole content from the external hard bulldoze and then to paste it in the computer. Please press Ctrl Key + X Key later selecting the whole content from the hard drive and press Ctrl Cardinal + Five Primal to paste information technology in the computer. When we cut and paste the information files. The transfer charge per unit might be faster than copying the files into the figurer.

Sorry but I don't understand how to paste information technology to the estimator. do I click on c offset. when I beginning tried it I was copying onto the aforementioned external drive.

Hello,
Once you're washed selecting and copying the files on your external hard drive by pressingCtrl Primal + A Keyor selecting specific files and pressing Ctrl + C Key or Right-click mouse then select Copy, right click on your screen and select Paste. Encounter picture below.

This was the way I expected to transfer my files from my external hard drive to my computer, but I ended upwardly with only shortcuts, not the actual files. To transfer the files I had to select files in one folder at a fourth dimension, and so copy and paste. With hundreds of folders and thousands of files this is a laborious process.

If you want to transfer numerous files and folders:
one)To transfer folders/files that are correct next to one some other:
-Click on the very top folder/file you want to transfer so it's highlighted in blue (exercise not open up the file).
-Hold down the shift fundamental and the very last file y'all want to transfer.
-All the files in between volition now be in blue.
-While hovering over the blue, right click and cull re-create or cut (I suggest use copy first until you lot get the hang of it, you lot'll need to delete files you've only copied and not cut if you want to delete them).
